Purpose

We live in a  culture where we hear a lot about seizing the day, taking control of your life and we can’t forget the high standards and goals of self fulfillment we impose on our selves.

Romans 12:1  And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. NLT

To break this down a little bit it is only reasonable that God has extended His grace to you and given you the gift of eternal life that you in appreciation for what He’s done for you give your life to serve and live out His plan and purpose for your life.  We have given up some of the most important aspects of being a follower of Jesus Christ by becoming so self fulfilled and hurry sick that we can barely squeeze God into a service once a week.  Friends, we must get it.  We must get that He gave His life up for us, He died on a Cross so that we could have eternal life and be in relationship with God.  So it is only reasonable and right that we give our life up to His Lordship.

Romans 12:2  Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.  NLT

It’s clear that God’s will for our lives after saving us is He wants to put us into service for Him.  We need to be willing to say God I am willing for you to renew my mind, transform me and use me as You will.  If you are a true follower of Christ you will be concerned with doing as Jesus did instead of doing your own thing.  We need to be in a relentless pursuit of God’s will and purpose instead of pursuing our own pleasures and living life on our own terms.  We were bought with a price – the price of Jesus’ precious shed blood on the cross.

God here am I!!!!
