Receive God’s Mercy

Psalm 90:14 Amplified Bible (AMP)

O satisfy us with Your mercy and loving-kindness in the morning [now, before we are older], that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

The buzzing of the alarm clock slowly coaches your eyes to open and your senses to gear up for your day.  As you stretch your arm over toward the alarm clock do you press the off button or hit the snooze?

How is your attitude when you wake up each morning?  Now, I understand that some people are not morning people but your attitude upon waking can set the mood for your entire day.  I used to sleep until the last possible moment then I would jump out of bed and hit the ground running.  Sometimes dragging about in the morning to the point of procrastination that I would rush to get out of the shower, get dressed, put my face on and hit the door already 15 minutes behind.  When I arrived at the café I would be rushing around trying to get it together before customers start arriving.  What a stressful start.

I have made a choice that I do not want the devil to guide my daily footsteps with his hurry sickness.  And I truly believe that our hurried days and lives are an attempt from the devil to steal our time and joy.  So we grouch when we get up because we’ve got another day of work, another day of running the kids all around, another day of groceries, cooking, cleaning, yada yada yada.  I will tell you there had better not be traffic in my way today.  I have made a choice to wake up every morning and thank God for HIS gift to me of another day.  I have made a choice to thank him for HIS mercy and loving-kindness of another day. Then I speak my Faith in God’s Word by proclaiming Psalm 118:24.

Psalm 118:24 New King James Version (NKJV)

This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

I WILL – yes that is right I WILL; you have a choice.  You can allow Satan to have you today or you can accept God’s gift and proclaim that you will rejoice and be glad in it.  God I am expecting something good today.  I know your favor is upon me.  I am your child and I was purchased at a great cost by the blood of Jesus Christ and I will honor my Savior and His sacrifice in my day.

As you begin your day think about it.  You are you going to allow someone to control your day. You do have a choice. Your footsteps, actions and thoughts will be influenced by either God or Satan; it’s your choice.  Will you allow God to have your morning so that you can wake up, seek Him first then slow down and enjoy all the beauty that is around you.

I encourage you today before you hit the ground running about that you accept God’s gift and mercy for today.  You dedicate some time this morning to being alone with God and building your relationship.  Kiss and hug your kids and your spouse.  Give thanks for your warm house, the car that you drive, the clothes on your back, the crisp cold morning air.

Make it a great day!  Praise Him!  Amen.
